Distraction still an issue for teen drivers
Study at the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety confirms teens still at risk from distractions and excessive speed. Distractions such as cellphones, texting, tablets, radios, and grooming led to accidents in over 50% of the cases examined.
Drivers were found to have been speeding in over 79% of the cases, traveling too fast for road conditions in relation to single vehicle accidents. Inattentiveness or lack of awareness contributed to 58% of the cases as drivers were distracted by non driving activities mentioned earlier.
