Experienced Instructors
Shield Driving School is dedicated to providing our communities with safe, responsible, and highly skilled drivers.
We provide a quality educational process
Shield driving school was developed from my passion for driving. As a former law enforcement officer, I know first-hand the issues and causes of many accidents you see on the road today. I finally can merge my law enforcement expertise and defensive driving training skills to provide and equip drivers with the knowledge they need to become safe, responsible, and defensive drivers.
Jay – “As a former police officer, I can share my personal stories and real life experiences I have encountered on the road. One of my goals it for parents to feel confident their teen has been well trained, not just to pass the test. Our roads are becoming more and more dangerous and challenging. Defensive skills and safety is of the utmost importance.
I was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Bridgeport, CT. I moved to Meriden in 2000 and have been a resident here since. I am bilingual and culturally sensitive. I am one of the first instructors in Connecticut to teach the Drug and Alcohol classes in Spanish. I am thrilled I can share my expertise amongst a diverse population.”

What can you expect?
Our teen population requires special attention. Sending your teens on the road without the proper training can be frightening for many parents. You hear many stories daily on the devastating accidents that could have been avoided in the first place. I am a father of two children, I would not want my future teens on the road without being properly trained by an individual who has the skill level I possess.
